I am in the studio working on a new work at the moment. ‘Ostinato’ takes ideas of ghosting and voicing from previous work, and further develops notions of repetition. The work is commissioned for the ‘Friday Firsts#8: Live Art meets Choreography’ programme at Yorkshire Dance.
The performance will take place on the evening of Friday March 2nd 2012.

Gillian is currently developing a research project for the Beacon Art Project, for a site specific installation event at the Mansion House, Louth in July ‘10.
The work investigates the visual presence of a still life, articulating metaphor and signifiers for a sense of place. Audience will be invited to an ‘open evening’, to explore the architectural space, and perhaps participate in drawing their own still life.
More details soon.

Join me for the second debate on Hull, sense of place, urban design, creative landscape. We will be looking in particular at the impact of the 2007 floods on the city, and asking if urban design and civil engineering works being carried out as a result can also be a vehicle for the development of a distinctive, innovative and effective urban landscape which celebrates ‘water’ and the relationship that the people of Hull have to the Esturine landscape.
