‘Bare Bones’ is a research and development project funded by Arts Council England, DYCP 2021-22. Throughout the year, Gillian Dyson worked with several other women, asking them to mentor and support her through an open-ended enquiry into the performing, somatic body. Karen Christopher, Marie-Gabrielle Roti, Florence Peak and Victoria Gray worked with Gillian to deepen and expand a body-based practice; to consider what it is to perform, move, showing the ageing feminine and re-examining the staging of new performance work quietly and gently.
